The Qabalistic Mysteries of YO
YO is the customary greeting of my cult.
Far from being an informal greeting or acknowledgment of presence, it is a Qabalistic coded blessing.
Y - the letter Yod, signifies the Hand
O, the letter Ayin, signifies the Eye
The Hand and the Eye is an ancient symbol, found in numerous cultures across the world, commonly called in Islamic areas “The Hand of Fatimah.”
Within the Southeastern United States, with what was formerly called the Southern Buzzard Death Cult, and now the Southeastern Ceremonial Complex, we have an Indigenous Ancestral form of this image.
The image of the eye within the hand is believed to protect from evil eye
When greeting a brother or sister of the order with the customary YO, we invoke blessings and dismiss envy, evil eyes, and negative attachments from each other.
YOD (10) + AYIN (70) = 80
The value of 80 is also the letter Pe - the “mouth”
This RE-calls the Opening of the Mouth Ceremony of Kemet, and within the Tree of Life, the path of Pe balances Hod (Splendor) and Netzach (Victory), and within the Tarot, shows the Tower - RE-calling the Tower of Babel (Babble Wrong) - PaPa Gede Nibo Bey gave us many lessons on the mysteries of Babble Wrong. Hermetically, this card’s Qabalistic placement signifies the destruction of the false ego - and by invoking YO, we are dissolving the false selves and structures between us, so our true selves can come through.
The Letter Mem (MYM) also equates to 80, signifying the waters, specifically Mami Wata “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Yod, being the single letter name of God, upon/between the waters of Mem - M - Yod - M (Water/God/Water).
Mem is present within one of the most sacred formulas of the order, the hieroglyph of the rabbit goddess Wenet. The rabbit, associated with the Moon, is associated with the Sephiroth Yesod, which also calculates to 80 - Yod (10) Samekh (60) Vav (6) Dalet (4) = 80. Mem, with the given hand-sign of the order, produces the Rabbit/Hare and Water of the hieroglyph. To give a little context to the mystery of our AUM…
